Work History
Staked as Lucky Strike cl (Y93668) in Sep/75 by J. Kubiak. Restaked as DK cl (YA90594) in Jul/86 by T. McCrory and B. Preston and optioned to Sunrise Met Corp, which performed bulldozer and hand trenching in 1986 and 1987. First Yukon Silver Res Inc tied on Odie cl (YB590) to the east in Jul/87 and conducted geochem sampling in 1989.
Capsule Geology
Lower Cambrian calcareous phyllite and slate are cut by numerous faults and minor shears containing galena, pyrite, sphalerite and traces of chalcopyrite. The best mineralization occurs along northwest-trending structures but a set of regularly spaced northeast fractures is also mineralized.
Three northwest-striking shear zones were trenched in 1986 over lengths of more than 100 m. Specimens from the 1.4 m wide Pie Zone assayed up to 1854.8 g/t Ag, 79.5% Pb and 0.1% Zn. Samples from the Hammer Zone assayed 483.4 g/t Ag and 80.9% Pb across 10 cm and 761.1 g/t Ag and 43.4% Pb across 20 cm. The MB Zone gave similar values.
