Work History
Staked by L.J. Thompson as Ida, etc cl (55629) in Sep/45 and C.W. Eden as Thomas, etc cl (57234) in Sep/47, all of which were transferred to Yukon Canyon Cold CL and explored with hand pits and a 4.6 m shaft in 1946-48 and road building and a 10.7 m adit in 1949.
Restaked as Doll cl (70446) in May/55 by G. Leverman; as Kirk cl in Aug/63 by R. Kirk; as OP cl (Y55329) in Apr/71 by P. Poggenburg. Restaked as Kirk cl (Y74873) in Jun/74 by H. Hibbing, who trenched in 1974, 1976 and 1984, added Aren & Brendon cl (YA91141) in Jul/88 and Livia cl (YB14143) in Sep/88 and performed geochem sampling in 1988.
Capsule Geology
Trenching has exposed a foliaform, pyritic quartz lens in a sequence of black graphitic rock and brown weathering mylonite within the Cassiar Fault Zone. The black rocks resemble Road River shale of Ordovician to Lower Devonian age. This sequence is interleaved with quartz-muscovite-chlorite schist that is probably tectonized quartz monzonite of the Cassiar Batholith. Hibbing's activity was located downstream from the earlier work.
