Work History
Staked as QUO cl 1-16 (YA67561) in Feb/82 by Quartz Lake Project (Kidd Creek Mines Ltd) which performed geochemical sampling later in the year.
Restaked within Sam cl 1-86 (YB46141) by International Barytex Resources Ltd in Aug/93. The company added Sam cl 100-152 (YB86005) and Silent cl 1-36 (YB85969) in Jul/96.
Capsule Geology
The claims are underlain by Neoproterozoic to Lower Cambrian clastic rocks of the undivided Vampire-Narchilla Formations. Staking was based on gold geochemical anomalies obtained from stream sediment samples collected during reconnaissance work carried out in 1973. The 1982 geochemical work failed to confirm the anomalies and returned only background values.
International Barytex Resources' staking was carried out to protect their Mel (Minfile Occurrence #095D 005), Jeri (Minfile occurrence #095D 032) and Jeri-North (Minfile Occurrence #095D 035) occurrences located to the south. It appears exploration work carried out around the Jeri-North occurrence was used to meet assessment requirements on the claims located around this occurrence.
