The Goldorak-Dromedary area is underlain volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks and sedimentary strata of the Vangorda Formation, siliciclastic and carbonate rocks and phyllites of the Rabbitkettle Formation and Mid to Upper Paleozoic siliciclastic rocks, carbonate and chert of the Road River Group/Steel Formation, Earn Group, Tay River Formation, and Mount Christie Formation unconformably underlain by Jones Lake Formation. These rocks are intruded by Late Devonian dioritic intrusions (364 Ma) and the Mid-Cretaceous MacArthur batholith to the west of the project area. The MacArthur batholith is considered to be a Mayo suite (98-93 Ma) intrusion.
The area is deformed by a northwest-trending fold and post-Triassic thrust belt. Thrust faults are offset by steeply dipping, north-south oriented faults that have both strike-slip and dip-slip displacement.
Three types of mineralization have been observed in the area: SEDEX (sedimentary exhalative) type; Skarn and replacement type; and vein-type.
The Ace Barite occurrence is a bedded barite horizon.
