Work History

Staked as Strike cl 1-100 (YC98701) and cl 101-114 (YC99475) in Jun/2009 by B. Naughty. Naughty immediately optioned Strike cl 17-20 (YC98717), cl 37-40 (YC98737), cl 56-60 (C98756), cl 75-80 (YC98775) and cl 95-100 (YC795) to First Lithium Resources Inc. In Oct/2009 First Lithium flew an airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey over the claims.
After Naughty signed his agreement with First Lithium, Network Exploration Ltd optioned Strike cl 1-6 (YC98701), cl 21-26 (YC98721), cl 41-45 (YC98741), cl 61-64 (YC98761) and cl 81-84 (YC98781). In Sep/2009 Network Exploration carried out a geological mapping and soil sampling program followed by an airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey in Nov/2009.
Towards the end of Jun/2009 Newcastle Minerals Ltd optioned Strike cl 11-16 (YC98711), cl 31-36 (YC98731), cl 51- 55 (YC98751), cl 71-74 (YC98771) and cl 91-94 (98791) from Naughty. The company carried out an airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey over the claims in Nov/2009.
In Jul/2009 Alix Resources Corp and Cloudbreak Resources Ltd jointly optioned Strike cl 7-10 (YC98707), cl 27-30 (YC98727), cl 46-50 (YC98746), cl 65-70 (YC98765) and cl 85-90 (YC98785) from Naughty. The companies immediately carried out a preliminary geological mapping, prospecting and soil sampling program on the claims. A follow-up detailed soil sampling program was completed in Sep/2009 and the companies carried out an airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey over the claims in Nov/2009. In Jan/2010 Cloudbreak Resources bought out Alix Resources’ 50% interest in the Strike and other jointly owned claims.
In Mar/2010 Atocha Resources Inc optioned Strike cl 101-114 (YC99475) from Naughty. The company carried out a geological mapping and soil sampling program in Jun/2010.
In Jun/2010 First Lithium Resources purchased Network Exploration’s Strike claims which are located south of and contiguous to First Lithium’s Strike claims. In Aug/2010 First Lithium completed a soil sampling program on both groups of claims.
In Nov/2010 Cloudbreak Resources optioned a 70% interest in its Strike claims and other neighbouring claim groups to AccelRate Power Systems Inc. Cloudbreak changed its name to Petro One Energy Corp in Dec/2010 to better reflect the company’s primary business focus on oil exploration. AccelRate Power Systems shareholders voted on June 15, 2011 to change the company's primary business focus to mining exploration and to change the company's name to Goldstrike Resources Ltd.

Capsule Geology

The geology of the Stewart River Area was remapped by J. Ryan and S. Gordey (2004) of the Geological Survey of Canada beginning in 2000 as a component of the Ancient Pacific Margin NATMAP Project. The NATMAP Project is an interagency project initiated by the Geological Survey of Canada, Yukon Geology Program (now Yukon Geological Survey) and British Columbia Geological Survey Branch to understand the composition, relationships and metallogenic of poorly understood pericratonic terranes lying between the ancestral North American margin and those known with more certainty to be tectonically accreted. The Stewart River component focuses on the Yukon-Tanana terrane, comprising complexly deformed mostly (?) Paleozoic meta-igneous and metasedimentary rocks. In 2005 S. Gordey and J. Ryan released a geological compilation map for the Stewart River area. The map units generally remained the same as the 2004 geology map but age dates were changed to reflect new dates obtained through geochronology data.
J. Ryan reported that the Stewart River area is underlain by twice-transposed, amphibolite-facies gneiss and schist of mostly (?) Paleozoic age. These are intruded by younger plutonic rocks (Jurassic, Cretaceous and Eocene) and overlain by upper Cretaceous volcanic rocks. Metasiliclastic rocks are widespread and dominated by psammite and quartzite, with lesser pelite and rare conglomerate. Preliminary detrital zircon geochronology and geochronology for plutonic rocks constrain the siliclastic rocks to the Middle Paleozoic. Amphibolite interdigitates with and stratigraphically overlies the siliclastic rocks. Marble horizons ((?) reefs) occurs within the amphibolite and siliclastic rocks. Orthogneissic rocks with diorite, tonalite and granodiorite protoliths intrude both the siliclastic and amphibole assemblages; it is interpreted as a subvolcanic intrusive complex.
Ignoring individual claim ownership, J. Ryan’s compilation geology map shows that the Strike claims are predominantly underlain by Devonian to Mississippian age massive undivided grey gneiss and amphibolite rocks (unit DMta). A sliver of Devonian to Mississippian quartz mica schist rocks (unit DMps) occurs along the eastern boundary of the claim block . A large Early Jurassic granitic intrusion (EJgd) straddles both sides of the Stewart River and intrudes both units along the north end of the claim block.
All of the exploration companies which optioned claims from B. Naughty carried out soil sampling programs on their individual claim blocks. What little information that has been released suggests that the companies identified areas of elevated gold response (> 10 to 15 ppb gold) but no anomalies of the same scale as reported on the neighbouring White Gold property (Minfile Occurrences #115O 11, 12, 13, 165 and 166).
Although all of the companies used the same geophysical company, Precision GeoSurveys Inc, most have not publicly released detailed results. As part of the process in purchasing Cloudbreak Resources interests in the area, AccelRate Power Systems completed a publicly available Technical Report (available on SEDAR) detailing the results of Cloudbreak’s airborne geophysical and soil sampling surveys. The geological component of the geophysical report appears to verify J. Ryan’s geological compilation of the area. The structural interpretation arrived from the magnetic data outlines a north-westerly trending lineament intersecting a north-easterly trending fault on the east side of AccelRate - Cloudbreak Resources’ claim block. This occurrence marks the approximate location of this intersection. Soil sampling results overlaid on the magnetic geophysical results display a few elevated gold responses near the intersection however sampling in this area was conducted at reconnaissance scale, with lines spaced 300 m apart and samples collected on 50 m centres, thus possibly limiting any gold response.
First Lithium Resources’ web site hosts a map displaying the results of the airborne geophysical survey conducted on their portion of the Strike claim block. Although general in detail, the map which displays the interpretation of the total magnetics results outlines a potential north-easterly trending fault that crosses the centre of their claim block and extends south onto the claims First Lithium purchased from Newcastle Minerals Ltd. These results appear to mimic those observed on Cloudbreak – AccelRate Power Systems claims and suggest that faults in the area possess a common north-easterly trend.
