Work History
Staked by Mountaineer ML in Aug/76 as Rad cl (YA6443), which were explored by mapping and reconnaissance radiometric surveys and optioned to Pan Ocean OL later in the year. Pan Ocean conducted further mapping, radiometric and geochem surveys in 1977 and 1978 and mapping and trenching in 1980. Mountaineer changed its name to Can Ml Corp in 1979 and Pan Ocean's interest was transferred to Aberford Res L in 1981.
Capsule Geology
Copper and uranium mineralization is disseminated in a hematite stained, bleached, feldspathic zone developed in limy argillite of the Middle Proterozoic Quartet Group peripheral to a Middle Proterozoic breccia body. Radioactivity is reported over a width of 15 m and a length of 610 m. Four grab samples of mineralized material assayed from 0.002 to 0.08% U3O8, while a chip sample across the best zone graded 0.26% U3O8 across 1.2 m. Brannerite is thought to be the main radioactive mineral.
