Capsule

Work History

Staked as 128 Rabbit cl (YA59767) to the south in Apr/81 by Anaconda Can EL, following airborne mag and EM surveys, and 215 Jar cl (YA73863) to the northwest in Oct/81 by Getty Can ML. In 1982, both Anaconda and Getty performed mapping, geochem, Max-Min, VLF, mag and gravity surveys.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by Devono-Mississippian Earn Group chert and shale intruded by a small Cretaceous pluton. On the Jar claims, a 20 m thick barite horizon was traced over a length of 5.5 km, with barite grade ranging from 10% to 41% Ba. A second grey chert horizon containing disseminated arsenopyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite was not assayed but a black shale bed produced specimens that returned up to 1100 ppm Pb and 25 ppm Ag.
Two kilometres to the south, near the top of the Earn Group, lead, zinc, silver, molybdenum and copper silt anomalies occur over a 2 km strike length in black chert and shale that host disseminated arsenopyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite. A sample from a 1.5 m wide black chert horizon containing nodular pyrite contained 1425 ppm Zn and 19.5 ppm Ag.
Work on the Rabbit claims outlined several electromagnetic conductors.
