Work History
Staked as Thor cl (YI9515) in Aug/67 by Spartan, EL, which performed limited mapping and sampling in 1968. This area was prospected in 1977 and 1978 as part of Welcome North ML's Basin Project.
Capsule Geology
The northwest occurrence consists of molybdenite and scheelite associated with hydrothermal alteration in a quartz stockwork related to fracture zones and pyritic gossans near the margin of a quartz monzonite stock that intrudes the Cretaceous Mt Billings Batholith.
The southwest occurrence consists of skarn pendants up to 6 m thick containing disseminated galena and molybdenite within the batholith. At one locality, brown sphalerite veinlets up to one cm wide cut diopside skarn.
The other four occurrences consist of narrow pendants of scheelite and pyrite-bearing skarn in granitic rocks.
