Work History

Coal was noted at this location by the GSC in 1972 but has apparently never been staked or investigated. This target lies within a large area withdrawn from staking in Jul/78 pending creation of a National Wilderness Park, settlement of native land claims, and development of a management plan for the Porcupine Caribou Herd.

Capsule Geology

A few high-volatile bituminous 'A' coal seams less than 1 m thick occur in Lower Tertiary Reindeer Formation sand and gravel. No analyses are available.
