Capsule

Work History

Staked as Bear cl (YA10780) in Sep/77 by Aquitaine, which explored with mapping, geochem and radiometric surveys later in the year and staked the Tab & Ant cl (YA10812) 1.6 km to the southwest. Further work was deferred because of a land withdrawal in Jul/78 pending creation of a National Wilderness Park, settlement of native land claims, and development of a management plan for the Porcupine Caribou Herd. The claims were transferred to Kidd Creek ML in 1981 and to Falconbridge in 1986.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by Ordovician to Lower Devonian Road River Group shale. The GSC reported anomalous radioactivity in chert and intraformational chert breccia in shale on the Tab claims. Specimens with disseminated pyrite and minor malachite staining assayed up to 0.3% Ba, 2.0% Sr, 12.4% P2O5 and 156 ppm U.
