Coal was reported at this locality by the GSC in 1979.

Capsule Geology

A thin coal seam is contained in Lower Tertiary coarse-grained sandstones and conglomerate. The seam comprises 35 cm of coal and carbonaceous claystone and occurs within a recessive interval near the middle of the unit.
