Work History

Staked as Riki cl 1-24 (YA52846) in Jul/80 by Mattagami Lake Exploration Ltd, which carried out geological mapping and geochemical surveying in 1981.
In Apr/97 Canadian United Minerals Inc staked Tak II cl 1-10 (YC04016), cl 12-18 (YC04026) and cl 19-22 (YC04033) 3 km to the west, north and east and carried out prospecting and magnetometer surveying in Mar/98.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by schist of Jurassic age correlative with the Keno Hill 'Lower Schist' unit, adjacent to several mid-Cretaceous Tombstone Plutonic Suite hornblende-biotite syenite stocks and related sills. No visible mineralization was found.
Canadian United identified several magnetic lows associated with a granodiorite (?) sill that trends across the area. Sampling of quartz sulfide veining hosted in the sill returned 880 ppb Au with 744 ppm As and 190 ppb Au with 1 425 ppm As from two separate grab samples.
This area now lies within the boundaries of the Tombstone Territorial Park and has been withdrawn from staking.
