Work History

Staked as A cl 1-16 (YA2326), B cl 1-4 (YA2322), AB cl 17-24 (YA2763) and AB cl 41-60 (YA2787) in Aug/75 by Chevron Standard Ltd which performed grid soil sampling and radiometric surveys in 1976 and added the Wad cl 1-16 (YA5195) to the northeast in Aug/76. Exploration in 1977 included mapping, rock trenching and drilling 7 Winkie drill holes (225.9 m) on the Al, A9 and Wad 44 claims.
Restaked as Peak cl 1-34 (YC16164) in May/99 by Canadian United Minerals Inc which carried out prospecting and a ground magnetometer geophysical program in May/2000.

Capsule Geology

The occurrence covers the Deadman Stock, a mid-Cretaceous granitic stock assigned to the Tombstone Suite. The stock is a multiphase intrusive which intrudes metasediments and metavolcanics assigned to the Upper Proterozoic to Lower Cambrian Hyland Group.
Chevron staked the original claims to cover uranium and thorium mineralization associated with a pseudoleucite-tinguaite phase of the syenite to quartz monzonite stock. The drill holes were collared on the east side of the claim block, in the area located between two small lakes and appear to have encountered minor uranium mineralization.
Canadian United¿s magnetometer survey outlined two anomalies; A and B. Anomaly A measures approximately 300 by 550 m in size and appears to resemble a pyrrhotite signature associated with a buried dyke. Anomaly B is a 25 m, circular target which may be related to pyrrhotite in either the quartz monzonite or a cross cutting dyke. Prospecting identified skarn float on the west side of Peak claims 1 and 2. Three samples were collected and all returned anomalous values for Zn (highest = 322 ppm).
