Work History

Staked as claim #703 in June, 1895 by R. Matheson & W.F. Cornell. Restaked as Cuprow Lode cl (712) in May, 1896 by W.R. Lloyd. Restaked as Ruby, etc cl (15401) in Nov/27 by J. Lawrence.
Restaked as Fresno cl 1-8 (YB53062) by Nordac Resources Ltd in Apr/95. The company added Fresno cl 9-14 (YB54211) in Aug/95. In 1995 Nordac collected reconnaissance soil samples along an east-west ridge crest which bisected the claim group.

Capsule Geology

The area lies within the Klondike segment of the Yukon-Tanana tectonic terrane. According to Gordey (1999), the occurrence area is underlain to the west by a sequence of Late Devonian to Early Mississippian quartz-muscovite-chlorite-schist, chlorite schist, quartz-feldspar-amphibole-gneiss, metagabbro, micaceous quartzite and marble belonging to the Nasina Assemblage. On the east side, the occurrence is underlain by Carboniferous and Permian quartzite and quartz-muscovite-biotite schist and marble assigned to the Klondike Schist Assemblage. Compositional layering of bedrock on the property is subparallel to foliation that undulates in a manner which yields an overall flat-lying aspect to stratigraphy.
Lawrence is rumored to have found an antimony showing.
In 1979, Archer, Cathro and Associates discovered multi-element geochemical anomalies in the general vicinity of the occurrence during a regional exploration program for asbestos. Nordac¿s soil sampling program was designed to follow up those anomalies. No anomalous values were returned from samples taken along the ridge.
