Work History

Staked as Joe, Luck etc cl in Jun/58 by C. Rivers, A. Retallack, etc. Prospectors Airways investigated the claims with hand trenching later in the year.
Restaked as Chamox cl (Yl5373) in May/68 by F. Chudy and as Gem cl (Y37809) in May/69 by T. Hendry.
Restaked as Movie cl 1-18 (YB53451) by M. Baknes in Aug/94. Later in the month Pendisle Resources Ltd. carried out a preliminary exploration program consisting of geological mapping and geochemical sampling.
In Jun/96, High Sense Geophysics Ltd. under contract to Equity Engineering Limited flew a regional, helicopter borne, magnetic and radiometric survey over most of the Coal Creek Inlier, but no claims were staked.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by Lower Proterozoic Quartet Group argillite. Mineralization occurs in cross-cutting siderite veins containing minor chalcopyrite. A specimen of mineralization assayed 3% Cu and 205.7 g/t Ag.
Equity Engineering established a small soil sampling grid in the northeast part of the property over mineralization found by prospecting. The survey outlined two anomalies. The first area outlined a partially coincidental Pb, Zn and Ag anomaly approximately 300 m by 250 m in size. Samples from this zone returned values up to 1 340 ppm Pb, 532 ppm Zn and 1.2 ppm Ag. Float collected from this area returned up to 4.2% Pb, 7.82% Zn and 35 ppm Ag. The mineralization is hosted in Quartet Group sediments and appears to consist of disseminated galena and sphalerite within a quartz-carbonate stockwork. The second anomalous area is defined by a single soil sample that assayed 325 ppm Cu. No rock samples were collected although a sample collected 300 m to the southwest returned 926 ppm Cu.
Sulphide mineralization is also associated with several dolomite-siderite-quartz veins which are exposed along a creek in the southwestern part of the claim block. The veins are 0.4 - 2.0 m wide and crosscut bedding within Quartet shales. Mineralization consists of blebs and disseminations of pyrite and chalcopyrite. A float sample consisting of blebs of chalcopyrite in parallel quartz-carbonate stringers within massive sparry siderite veins assayed up to 1.37 % Cu. The density of veins increases towards the breccia and their orientation come into line with the tabular steeply dipping breccia body. This relationship between the breccia and the veins suggests that the vein and breccia mineralizing events were synchronous. Silt sampling returned a few samples anomalous in one or more elements. The regional airborne geophysical survey outlined numerous northeast trending features which were interpreted as faults.
