Work History
Staked in Jul-Nov/76 as a 24 km long claim block consisting of 314 Rein, Shyne & Shay cl (YA5731) by the Blackstone Project (Union Miniere and Shell Can L) and 171 TBO & HPZ cl (YA5853) by a joint venture between St Joe & Getty Mg Pacific L. Both properties were explored with soil sampling and mapping in 1976, 1977 and 1978. Milchem Mls Inc optioned the Rein group in 1979, built a road and explored with bulldozer trenching and airtrack drilling in 1979-80. The Mondo 1-60 cl (YB29817) were staked in Jun/93 by Pearl Petroleum Corporation.
Restaked within MC cl 1-682 (YB99163) by Blackstone Resources Inc in Oct/97.
Capsule Geology
Strong zinc anomalies and hydrozincite concentrations were found at several localities but no sphalerite was seen. The source seems to be Devono-Mississippian Earn Group silty argillite and shale that contains discontinuous lenses of barite up to 30 m thick. Limy shale and phyllitic carbonate of the Ordovician-Lower Devonian Road River Formation are thrust over the Earn Group rocks by the Dawson Fault.
Quartz-carbonate veins containing traces of chalcopyrite and sylvanite cut both units. Minor lead-copper-zinc vein mineralization was found peripheral to dioritic sills on the Shay and Shyne claims, and minor galena, sphalerite, and barite vein mineralization was reported on the Rein cl. The Milchem work was directed toward the barite potential.
