Work History
Staked as OK cl (Y89107) in July-Aug/74 by OK Silver ML. The north side was staked as a large block of Snark cl (YA17407) in Dec/77 by CCH Res L (Campbell Chibougamau ML) & Inco, which conducted extensive mapping and geochem sampling in 1978. In 1979, Billiton E Can L joined CCH & Inco to form the Cortin Project, which performed additional mapping and geochem sampling in 1979 and 1980. CCH changed its name to Campbell Res Inc in 1980.
Restaked Jan/92 as part of a block of 155 Boulder cl (YB28168) by Kokanee Exploration Ltd Exploration in the fall of 1992 consisted of geological mapping, geochemical sampling and prospecting. The Boulder cl were transferred in Jan/93 to Consolidated Ramrod Gold Corp.
Capsule Geology
Vein material containing copper mineralization was found in this vicinity prior to 1948. The most common lithology underlying the property is a Cretaceous biotite granite stock, which is surrounded by Paleozoic metasedimentary rocks including schist, quartzite, argillite, limestone, phyllite and quartz-feldspar tuff. Mineralization is related to the intrusive rocks and consists of veins, breccias and stockworks of tin-tungsten, gold-silver-lead-zinc vein and silver-lead-antimony, as well as disseminations of base and precious metals within skarn zones.
The 1992 exploration program was directed to evaluating the potential for Fort Knox-style mineralization, which is a bulk tonnage, low grade gold deposit near Fairbanks, Alaska.
