Capsule

Work History

Staked as Buck, Ross etc cl (67689) in Nov/53 by Canalask Nickel ML. Restaked as Snag and Snaggy cl (91885) in Apr/65 and as Beaver and Bonza cl (Y8546) in Jun/66 by P. Versluce and optioned to Cominco, which conducted mag surveys later in the year. Explored by Versluce with an EM 15 survey in 1967 and optioned late in the year by Glacier E Corp (a Cyprus subsidiary) together with Rox Port cl (Y20226), staked in Jul/67 by P.H. Sevensma.
The area east of the highway was restaked as the Snag 25-46 cl (Y6O524) in Apr/71 by White River ML.

Capsule Geology

The major target is a strong aeromagnetic anomaly, first found by Canalask, is the exploration target. The area is almost completely covered by an estimated 20 to 150 m of overburden. EM surveys by Cyprus failed to locate conductors of sufficient strength to warrant drilling. Magnetic anomalies in this area are probably caused by ultramafic sills that could have associated nickel deposits.
