Work History
Staked as the 3-2-Many cl 1-16 (YA10228) in Jun/77 by a joint venture between Eldorado Nuclear Ltd & Canadian Occidental Minerals Ltd, which carried out mapping, geochem and ground and airborne radiometric surveys in 1977. The joint venture added NEF cl 1-34 (YA29660) in May/78, Nef cl 35-90 (YA32010) in Apr/79 and Nef cl 91-97 (YA32762) in Jun/79 and carried out geochemical and ground radiometric surveys in 1978 and 1979. In 1982, Eldorado changed its name to Eldor Resources Ltd.
N. Burmeister tied on MK cl 1-38 (Y29723) to the northwest, added Sue cl 1-8 (YA29761), Bri cl 1-8 (YA29769) and SB cl 1-8 (YA29777) 3.2 km to the south in May/78 and performed a radiometric survey in 1979 and hand trenching in 1980.
S. Ryan staked U cl 3-30 (YC35883) 1.5 km southwest in Apr/2005. Ryan carried out 1 day of reconnaissance soil sampling in Aug/2006. The program was limited to the northeast corner of the claim block. In Dec/2005 Ryan staked U cl 1-2 (YC36744), cl 31-50 (YC36746), cl 59-90 (YC36766) and cl 51-58 (YC36798). In Aug/2006 Ryan optioned the claims to International KRL Resources Corp in return for cash, shares and certain work commitments. KRL International carried out a property wide reconnaissance soil sampling program in Sep/2006. In Aug/2007 the company flew a helicopter magnetic and radiometric survey over the entire claim block. KRL International terminated the option agreement in Nov/2007 and returned the claims to Ryan.
Restaked within Cripple cl 1-291 (YD135901) in Feb/2011by S.Ryan who staked Pedlar cl 1-728 (YD138501) to the north and west at the same time. On Mar 2/2011 Ethos Capital group optioned a 100% interest in the Cripple, Pedlar and U claims. The company also optioned Ryan’s Bridget claims (Minfile Occurrence #115J 072) located 6 km to the north and W claims (Minfile Occurrence #115J 073) located 8.5 km to the northeast. Together these claims were named the Bridget property.
In Apr/2011 Ethos Capital staked Cripple cl 761-957 (YD139229) and cl 292-760 (YE18032) and Pedlar cl 729-994 (YE20501). During the 2011 field season the company flew airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys over the property followed by reconnaissance scale soil sampling, prospecting and geological mapping programs. Later in the season ground magnetics, trenching and detailed soil sampling was carried out on selected targets.
GEOLOGY
The area was reconnaissance mapped by D. Templeman-Kluit in 1974. The Yukon Geological Survey is re-mapping the area but no public results have yet been released. Gordey and Makepeace (2003) of the Geological Survey of Canada released a geological compilation which covered this area. Ryan and Gordey of the Geological Survey of Canada remapped the Stewart River area to the north in the early 2000's and released a geology map in 2004. A year later they released a compilation map of the same area which differed slightly from the earlier map due to revisions related to newly disclosed age dating results. M. Colpron of the Yukon Geological Survey released a tectonic assemblage map of the Yukon-Tanana in 2006 which included this area.
The occurrence area is covered by extensive tree and brush cover making access and geological mapping difficult at best. Based on geological mapping performed by Eldorado Nuclear and cursory geological mapping by International KRL the area appears to be underlain by a sequence of siliciclastic rocks consisting of quartzite and quartz-mica schist interspersed with marble and interlayered with orthogneiss of a granitic protolith. The sequence is likely Devonian to Mississippian in age, though some of the orthogneiss could be Permian. A large mid-Cretaceous (?) age granitic intrusion assigned to the Coffee Creek suite intrudes the sequence.
Eldorado Nuclear's 3-2-Many claims covered the east side of a large granitic stock which intrudes Paleozoic rocks. The occurrence location marks the site of the highest uranium value returned in 1978 by soil sampling (535 ppm uranium). Eldorado Nuclear's Nef claims were located to the west and northwest of the 3-2-Many claims, an area underlain mainly by Paleozoic rocks. Soil sampling, rock chips obtained from soil pits and radiometric surveys carried out in 1978 and 79 outlined nineteen radiometric and twenty uranium soil geochemical anomalies. Rock chips recovered from soil pits dug on radiometric anomalies were often brecciated and clay altered.
Burmeister carried out ground radiometric surveys in 1978 and 79 on his various claim holding. The surveys on the Bri, Sue, and SB claims returned subdued radiometric response attributed to masking of gamma-radiation by overburden and permafrost. Radiometric surveys carried out on the MK claims returned several anomalies in the central and southeastern portions of the claim block. Follow-up trenching appears to have occurred but no record of this work can be located.
Ryan staked U cl 3-30 overtop the strongest uranium soil anomaly (anomaly #1) outlined on Eldorado Nuclear's Nef claims. The soil sampling program outlined a northwest trending uranium soil anomaly lying uphill and measuring approximately 500 m long by 100 m wide and returning values up to 408 ppm uranium. International KRL's 2006 soil sampling program was carried out to confirm Ryan's work and generate targets for future exploration. Although the company's soil sampling program was more reconnaissance in nature, the highest 2006 results (96.1 and 48.3 ppm uranium) occur along the postulated northwest trend of a linear structure. International KRL completed the airborne magnetic and radiometric survey and provided the data in a finished report however other than providing the location of contacts and elevated thorium and magnetic susceptibility values, the report contains no discussion of the results. It appears the company dropped the claims to concentrate their efforts on other properties which were further along in development.
As of Jan/2012, Ethos Capital has not publically released any results for the Bridget property.
