Work History

*In November 2011 the occurrence was moved 0.75 km to the southeast to reflect its true location.

Staked as Tony Tiger cl 1-32 (Y36916) in Aug/69 by Dawson Range Joint Venture (Straus Exploration Inc, Molybdenum Corporation of American, Trojan Consolidated Mines, and Great Plains Development Company of Canada Ltd), which conducted grid soil sampling in 1969 and bulldozer trenching and mapping in 1970.

Restaked as W cl 1-16 (YA4005) in Dec/75 by M. Jorgenson, and as Caffeine cl 1-16 (YA25283) in Aug/79 by Archer, Cathro and Associates Ltd.

In Apr/2006 S. Ryan staked Tiger cl 1-8 (YC46726) south of the occurrence and carried out a small soil sampling program in Jun/2006.

In May/2007 a joint venture group composed of Rimfire Minerals Corporation and Northgate Minerals Corporation staked Blvd cl 1-96 ( YC64776) northwest of the occurrence.

Restaked as Ave cl 1-4 (YC65316) in Jul/2007 by the joint venture group. The claims are located immediately north of the Tiger claims and due east of Blvd claims 89 and 90. The joint venture carried out detailed soil sampling program over their entire claim holdings later in the year.

In Jun/2008 the joint venture staked Drive cl 1-32 (YC81284) east of the Ave claims and east, south and west of the Tiger claims. In Aug/2008 the joint venture group staked Blvd cl 97-134 (YC82926) on the southeast end of their claim block and Blvd cl 135-202 (YC82964) on the western half. In 2008, the group carried out extensive trenching followed by a seven hole diamond (525 m) program.

In Jul/2009, the joint venture group optioned the entire Boulevard property to Silver Quest Resources Ltd for cash, shares and certain work commitments. The company carried out detailed auger soil sampling over three priority gold-arsenic and antimony soil geochemical anomalies located to the west and general property scale prospecting in 2009. The company also staked additional claims. The area surround this occurrence received cursary sampling and geological mapping.

In Aug/2009 Rimfire Minerals merged with Geoinformatics Exploration Inc and changed its name to Kiska Metals Corp.

In 2010 Silver Quest Resources carried out Kubota trenching, prospecting, soil sampling, geological mapping, 62.5 km of ground magnetic surveying and drilled 20 diamond drill holes (3005.79 m) on the Boulevard property. In Sep/2010 the company optioned the Tiger claims from S. Ryan. The company continued to stake additional claims.

In the summer of 2011 Silver Quest completed further soil sampling, detail geological mapping, surficial terran mapping and airborne magnetic and radiometric on the property. In Sep/2011 the company commenced a 6 000 m drill program to test targets identified during the summmer. No substantial work was carried out around this occurrence. The company continued adding claims to the property. As of Sep/2011 the Boulevard property comprises 1 020 contiguous mineral claims.

In Oct/2011 Silver Quest Resources signed a binding letter of agreement with New Gold Inc whereby New Gold would acquire all outstanding shares of Silver Quest Resources. As part of the agreement Silver Quest Resources’ Yukon based mineral properties were to be spun off into a newly formed Yukon-focused precious metals exploration company, McIntyre Minerals Inc. In Nov/2011 the companies agreed to an ammenment to the agreement whereby the name of the new precious metal company would be changed to Independence Gold Corp.

GEOLOGY

The area was reconnaissance mapped by D. Templeman-Kluit in 1974. Since that time various geologists have mapped near this area but no one has directly mapped the occurrence area in detail. Gordey and Makepeace (2003) released a geological compilation that covered this area. M. Colpron of the Yukon Geological Survey released a Tectonic Assemblage map which included this portion of the Yukon-Tanana Terrane in 2006. Colpron's stratigraphic units and age dates differ slightly from those used by Gordey and Makepeace because he was establishing terrane wide relationships.

The occurrence is located on the northwest side of a small peak lying north of the headwaters of Coffee Creek and east of a branch of Independence Creek, in west-central Yukon (southwest corner Ave 2 claim). The occurrence is underlain by Devonian to Mississippian polydeformed and metamorphosed quartzite, psammite, pelite and marble which Colpron refers to as the Snowcap Assemblage. Other geologists believe these rock might belong to the slightly younger Permian age Klondike schist assemblage. The metamorphic rocks are intruded to the north and south by Early to mid-Cretaceous granitic intrusions. Younger dacite dykes are known to intrude both the metamorphic rocks and granitic intrusions .

Soil sampling carried out by the Dawson Range Joint Venture group outlined a strong molybdenum soil anomaly on the southeast side of the Tony Tiger claims. The anomaly returned molybdenum values ranging from 20 to over 100 ppm, over an area measuring approximately of over 160 ha. Trenching and mapping carried out in 1970 over the anomaly uncovered a northeast-trending zone of aplite dykes, skarn and quartz stockworks. The occurrence consists of a small skarn outcrop hosted within quartzose schist and gneiss of the Yukon-Tanana Terrane near the south contact of a stock of Early to mid-Cretaceous Coffee Creek quartz monzonite. Trenching exposed two areas of weak mineralization, composed of small blebs and stringers and disseminations of molybdenite, chalcopyrite, scheelite, pyrite and arsenopyrite with quartz veinlets. A selected specimen assayed 0.08% copper, 0.19% molybdenum, 0.1% tungsten oxide (WO3) and 2.7 g/t silver.

Soil samplingcarried out by S. Ryan on the Tiger claims, which covers the majority of the original mineralized zone, outlined anomalous copper and molybdenum values.

Soil sampling carried out by Rimfire and Northgate Minerals in 2007 outlined a 250 by 250 m molybdenum-tungsten-copper anomaly immediately north of the Tiger claims and attributed it to mineralization associated with localized tungsten-copper skarn mineralization observed at the location of the original occurrence.

Since 2007 the area surrounding this occurrence has only received cursory amounts of exploration activity. All exploration efforts since 2007 have been focused on other areas of the Boulevard property (Minfile Occurrence 115J 050 etc.).
