Work History

Staked as Lee cl (Y91483) in October 1974 by G. Dickson, who re-staked as part of a larger group including Nulee, JS, etc cl (YA94697) in May 1986 and explored with bulldozer trenching, soil sampling and mapping in 1986, 1987 and 1988.

In 2017, G. Prior staked the Lee cl 1-4 near the Rowlinson occurrence and carried out mapping and sampling of historical trenches as well as soil and silt sampling.

Regional & Property Geology

The occurrence is located in the Dawson Range within Yukon-Tanana Terrane (YTT). The rocks of the YTT in this region consist of Early Mississipian metamorphic rocks separated into meta-sedimentary and meta-igneous suites (Stroshein, 1998). The meta-sedimentary suite consists of micaceous quartz-feldspar gneiss, schist and quartzite of the Nasina Assemblage. The meta-igneous package is comprised of biotite-hornblende feldspar gneiss and coarse-grained granodiorite orthogneiss with lesser amphibolite.

The claims are underlain by biotite schist, assigned to the Carboniferous Simpson Range (MgSR by Colpron (2014). These rocks are locally intruded by Cretaceous porphyry, and gabbro to diorite plugs.

Mineralization & Results

Coarse stibnite occurs in a poorly exposed zone of discontinuous, narrow, en echelon quartz veins. The zone trends northeast, is 150 m wide and 25 m long and cuts a schist unit. A grab sample containing about 20% stibnite assayed less than 0.34 g/t Au and 0.07 g/t Ag.

Rock samples of poorly exposed stibnite-bearing quartz veins taken in 1986 returned up to 31, 206 ppm Sb with minor gold and silver.
