Work History
Staked as the Nan cl (Y90719) in September 1974 by G. Dickson, who had previously explored in this area about 1970 with bulldozer trenching. Re-staked as Only cl 1-30 (YA93535) by Kerr Addison ML in August 1985, which explored by geological mapping, grid soil geochemistry, VLF and EM-16 surveys in 1986 and hand trenching in 1988.
Re-staked as Mn cl 1-80 (YB96530) by BYG Natural Resources Inc in September 1996.
Re-staked as Max cl 1-194 (YD127441) in 2011 by YES Exploration Syndicate and Olympic Resources Ltd. who carried out soil sampling and prospecting.
In 2017, Archer Cathro re-staked the claims as Lone cl 1-61 (YF59161).
Regional & Property Geology
Limited exposure in the area indicates Mount Nansen volcanics consisting of rhyodacite-andesite feldspar porphyry and porphyritic tuffs to lapilli tuffs underlie the majority of the property. To the north and south, the Mount Nansen volcanics are in contact with mid-Cretaceous Whitehorse Suite plutonic granodiorite and quartz-diorite.
The Lonely occurrence is associated with a small stock of weakly altered, brecciated and pyritized mid-Cretaceous Prospector Mountain feldspar porphyry that has weathered to a noticeable gossan near the centre of the claim group and contains disseminated arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite. The showing is bounded to the east and north by unaltered feldspar porphyry and to the south and west by unaltered granodiorite.
Mineralization & Results
Quartz stringers in the porphyry occur along a major north-trending structure that exhibits clay alteration and silicification. Further work in 1988 noted fine-grained pyrite and/or pyrrhotite locally throughout this altered porphyry with minor chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite and possible molybdenite.
Quartz specimens from 1984 assayed up to 1.6 g/t Au and 15 g/t Ag.
Soil samples taken near the occurrence from 1986 by Kerr Adison Mines returned gold-in-soil values up to 150 ppb. Trenching in 1987 returned rock samples with up to 115 ppb Au, 555 ppm Cu and 115 ppm Ag.
