Work History
Staked as Star cl (Y50341) in Feb/70 by Starbird ML, which conducted an aeromagnetic survey and geochemical sampling and trenching in 1971 and grid soil sampling in 1973. The Pro cl (Y58269) were staked immediately north in Sep/70 by Can. Occidental Pet L, which prospected and soil sampled in 1971.
Capsule Geology
A copper soil anomaly coincident with an airborne magnetic high was located on the Star group in an area underlain by Mt Nansen volcanic rocks and hornblende syenite. Mapping and soil sampling on the Pro cl located chrysocolla in andesite of the Mt Nansen group; native copper, tetrahedrite and copper oxides along the syenite contact; and pyrite, tetrahedrite, enargite, proustite and sphalerite in felsic dykes.
