Work History

The earliest claims staked may have been Willow cl (63292) by S. Martinchuk and X cl (63288) by J. Sirman in Jul/52 and Black cl (63333) in Aug/52 by M. Grenier. Some hand trenching was done on all three groups. The Valley cl (68017) were staked in Jan/54 by H. Perrin, D. Carnegie and P.W. Forrest, who did some hand trenching later in the year.
Restaked as Vera cl (Y21028) in Sep/67 by A.E. Thom, which were optioned in Oct/67 by R. Anderson and in May/68 by R. Granger, who did some bulldozer trenching. Thom continued hand trenching 1969-72.
Fringe claims on which no work was reported include Moly cl (Y24859) in May/68 by G. Harris; Dike cl (Y49308) in Jan/70 by A. Nichiporuk and W. Hyde; Taboo cl (Y50859) in Feb/70 by P. White for Inland Copper L; and Sun cl (Y61545) in Jul/71 by G. Holland and D. Wytinck.
A. Thom and R. Anderson filed minor hand trenching on the Vera group in 1976-79, restaked as Vera cl (YA59003) in Oct/80, and transferred the claims to E.G. Lattin in 1983, who restaked the showing as Vera cl (YA95974) in Aug/86. Lattin performed blast trenching in 1992. J. Dodge tied on Crane cl (YB21971) to the west in Oct/88.

Capsule Geology

A mineralized skarn is found in limy metamorphic rocks in an area of numerous dykes and stocks of complex and variable composition. The mineralized zone, consisting of pyrrhotite with minor chalcopyrite, has a maximum width of 4.6 m and has been traced for a little over 30 m. Grab samples of the best mineralized material are reported to assay up to 3.0% Cu.
