Work History
Staked as Rye cl (Y63018) in Oct/71 by Canadian Occidental Pet. L, which conducted grid soil sampling and mapping in 1972 and added the YER cl (167576) in Nov/72.
Capsule Geology
Claims are underlain by metasedimentary rocks in contact with felsic volcanic flows, tuff and breccia that rim an alaskite stock. A small showing on the east side of the Rye claims contains massive sphalerite, pyrrhotite and pyrite, and disseminated pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite occur in the rhyolite host rocks. Soil sampling located strong coincident values in copper, zinc and molybdenum which extended off the Rye claims.
