Work History
First staked as Betsy, Olga and Clem cl (63296) in Jul/52 by P. Versluce, H. Versluce and C. Eminger. Restaked as Cork cl (Y9756) in Jul/66 during a reconnaissance geochem program by a syndicate composed of Imperial OL, Alcon Pet L and Can Industrial G & OL. Alcon's interest was later assigned to Bow Valley Res L. Exploration consisted of preliminary mapping and limited magnetic, IP and soil sampling surveys in 1967, detailed mapping and road building in 1969 and 8 holes (805 m) in 1970.
Restaked as Granite cl (YA24066) in Apr/79 by G. Harris and as JY cl (YA51133) in Oct/80 by L.B. Halferdahl & Assoc (BUR Synd), which mapped and sampled in 1981, trenched in 1984 and transferred its property in 1985 to Tatam Res L. In 1987, the claims were transferred to Nathan Mls Inc, which performed airborne and ground VLF and magnetic surveys and soil sampling in 1988. Road improvements were done in 1989.
Capsule Geology
Disseminated pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite occur in quartz veins and dry fractures cutting irregular sills or dykes of Tertiary feldspar porphyry dated at 26 Ma which intrude hornfelsed argillite of the Permian Hasen Creek Formation.
The mineralization is exposed in a creek bed at two locations and is elsewhere covered by overburden. It is associated with weak but pervasive hydrothermal alteration and brecciation and is surrounded by a pyrite halo and hornfels zone which has weathered to form a prominent gossan. Alteration consists of weak chloritization and silicification and local argillic and sericitic development. Grade is less than 0.2% Cu and 0.01% MoS2.
