Work History
Staked as 301 Gal, Ann, etc cl(Y84723) in Aug/73 by a syndicate composed of Sicintine Mines Ltd, Action Resources Ltd and Great Bear Mining Ltd. In 1974 the property was optioned by Conwest Exploration Company Ltd and Getty Mines Ltd, which carried out mapping and soil sampling. Cypress Resources Ltd drilled 3 holes (257 m) on the Ann 32 cl in 1975 under an option. Great Bear changed its name to Aries Resources Incorporated in 1977 and Sicintine transferred its interest to Action in 1978.
Capsule Geology
The property is underlain by Upper Proterozoic Risky Formation rocks. Relatively flat-lying shale and carbonate beds in the north part of the claims appear to be thrust southward over steeply north-dipping shale, phyllite and dolomite. Major westerly trending fault thrusts. Flat-lying carbonates and shales against steep northerly dipping shale phyllite and carbonates.
Minor occurrences of sphalerite in breccia zones, fractures and vugs, and veinlets of galena were found in pisolitic dolomite north of the fault, while traces of zinc oxide and zinc carbonate were found in small breccia zones in the lower dolomite south of the fault, which is believed to correlate with the Harrison showing. The best drill intersection was from 14 to 18 m in Hole 3, which assayed 1.4% zinc and 0.03% lead.
