Work History
Staked as Bid cl 7-14 (Y69958), cl 25-32 (Y69976) and cl 43-50 (Y69994) in Aug/73 by Sicintine Mines Ltd. Also in Aug/73 adjoining claims Bid cl 15-18 (Y69966), cl 33-36 (Y69984) and cl 51-54 (Y70005) and Rye cl 9-14 (Y84785, cl 23-26 (Y84799), cl 35-40 (Y84811) and cl 45-48 (Y84821) were staked by Action Resources Ltd; Rye cl 1-8 (Y84825), cl 15-22 (Y84791), cl 27-34 (Y84803) and cl 41-44 (Y84817) were staked by Claymore Resources Ltd; and Bid cl 1-6 (Y69952), cl 19-24 (Y69970) and cl 37-42 (Y69952) and Ace cl 33-34 (Y85854) were staked by Gentry 0il & Gas Ltd and Granger Petroleum Ltd.
In 1974, Sicintine, Action, Claymore and Gentry conducted mapping and soil sampling and Benmac Holdings added the Zip cl (Y86658) to the north.
Capsule Geology
The area is underlain by a northwest-trending fault-bounded strip of Upper Proterozoic carbonate to siliciclastic rocks.
The claims cover the same Upper Proterozoic Risky Formation rocks that occur at the dolomite-hosted Goz (Minfile Occurrence #106C 020) deposit to the southwest. Sicintine reported smithsonite and quartz filling fractures in dolomite. The best grab sample assayed 29% zinc and a chip sample across 12.1 m assayed 2.7% zincZn. No showings were found on the Claymore claims although a broad zinc anomaly was reported. Gentry located low grade zinc oxide in quartz veins and silicified breccia zones in dolomite while Action located discontinuous zones of sphalerite with the best assay returning 3.8% zinc over 1.5 m.
