Work History

Old claim posts for which claim records have not been found occur 3.2 km southeast. Staked as GYR and ETC cl (Y95701) in Aug-Sep/74 by the Harman 1974 Syndicate (Camflo Mines Ltd, Highland Mercury Mines Ltd, Ram Petroleums Ltd, United Siscoe Mines Ltd, United Hearne Resources Ltd and Yellowknife Bear Mines Ltd).
The adjoining AL 169-240 cl (Y88272) were staked in Apr/74 by Pelly River Staking Syndicate, explored under option during June-August with mapping and geochem sampling by Cyprus Anvil Mining Corporation Ltd, and optioned to Monore Metals Corporation, which tied on the Add cl (Y96921) in Sep/74.
The Harman Syndicate conducted mapping and geochem sampling in 1975 and trenching in 1976. The GYR group was restaked as GYR cl (YA17322) in Oct/77 by A. Harman and was transferred in 1980 to Arctic Red Resources Corporation.

Capsule Geology

The region is underlain by Ordovician-Silurian Kindle Formation carbonate rocks that are overthrust to the east by Late Proterozoic Sheepbed Formation quartzite and slate..
Yellow sphalerite, calcite and galena form breccia matrix and fill fractures in carbonate of the Kindle Formation. The carbonate unit is made up of fossiliferous grey limestone and a conglomerate. The conglomerate is composed of rounded fragments of grey limestone and occasional stromatolites and horn corals comprising 85% of the rock in a matrix of black micrite. The fragments range from a few millimetres to over 30 cm in diameter.
The main mineralized area is about 300 m long and 60 m wide. Trenching gave chip sample assays of 3.5% Zn and 0.4% Pb across 1.5 m and 3.3% Zn and 0.01% Pb across 3 m. A grab sample assayed 10.3% Zn, 3.7% Pb and 1.4 g/t Ag.
