Work History

Staked as the Tongue & Cheek cl (Y96086) in Aug-Sep/74 by Union Carbide Can L, which mapped and sampled in 1974, drilled 6 holes (1514.6 m) in 1975, and performed hand trenching in 1980 and added Pil cl (YA77289) in Jul/83.

Capsule Geology

Scheelite and chalcopyrite occur with pyrite and pyrrhotite in diopside skarn that has developed in a thin limy horizon within a Late Proterozoic-Early Cambrian grit unit. The showing outcrops as a zone 300 m long and up to 0.6 m thick in an inaccessible cliff face. Float assaying up to 4% WO3 was found downhill from the showing. Sedimentary host rocks dip south at a low angle and form the summit of the mountain above a Cretaceous quartz monzonite stock.
Drilling behind the showing demonstrated that the mineralization weakens as the skarn horizon diverges from the more steeply dipping intrusive contact. The best drill intersection was 0.13% WO3 and 0.10% Cu over 0.67 m (Hole 5).
