Work History

Staked as Susy cl (86482) in Aug/47 by J. Hawthorne, who added Yono cl (59552) in Jun/50, Ada cl (80901) in Jun/61 and Bunker cl (83025) in Jul/63 and carried out hand and bulldozer trenching in 1963 and 1979. The Yono group was partially restaked as Lem cl (YA17395) in Nov/77 by A. Arsenault, who carried out bulldozer trenching in 1978. Canada Tungsten Mining Corporation Ltd purchased the claims in Feb/79 and carried out geological mapping later that year and soil geochemical sampling and prospecting in 1980, before selling them to Springmount Operating Company Ltd in 1987. E. Jarvis and R. Brost tied on the George cl (YB03935) to the southeast in Apr/91.
The showing was restaked in Oct/91 as Dog 1-2 cl (YB19956) by T. Casten, who trenched in 1992 and 1994. In Oct/94 D abd J Hajek surrounded the Dog claims with a series of small claim groups. These included the Queen 5-6, Jack 7-8, Club 9-10, Thunder 11, Hill 12, Spade 5-16, Diamond 17-18, Ace 1-3, King 3-4, Bunker 13 and Keno 13. In Oct /95 P. Hajek restaked Ace cl 1-2 as Ace A & Ace B cl (YB65050). Later in the month Casten, restaked Ace cl as Dog cl 5 (YB65118).
In Jan/96 Casten restaked King cl 3-4 as Dog cl 3-4 (YB65203). In Mar/96 Casten restaked Dog cl 1-2 as Dog cl 1-2 (YB65309). In Mar/97 Casten staked Dog cl 3-7 (YB65970) overtop the expired Dog cl 3-5, Ace A and Ace B claims.
In Jun/98, the Hinton Group, a private syndicate restaked the area as Hinton II cl 1-26 (YC01126) covering the occurrence and most of the surrounding area, except for a handful of active Lem and Dog claims. The claims were almost immediately optioned to Yukon Gold Corporation Ltd. Available records indicate that the company carried out trenching and sampling on the claims in Sep/98, although no report of this work could be located.
The remaining Dog claims were restaked as DG cl 1-5 (YC10458) by R. Marshall in Jun/2002.

Capsule Geology

Minor amounts of argentiferous galena occur in a narrow vein cutting the Mississippian Keno Hill Quartzite.
