Work History
First staked as Rambler cl (12864) in Sep/19 by J. Brennan and Manahan cl (13102) in Jun/20 by H. Manahan. Restaked by F.J. O'Connor in Jul/49 as Cinnamon cl (59323), which was sold to Cons Yukeno ML in Jan/50 and transferred in Feb/51 to Yukeno ML, which bulldozer trenched in 1953-54.
Restaked in Oct/64 by J. Strebchuk and V. Mulkins as Grey Copper and Arctic cl (83709) and optioned by Conwest, which added the Tor and Onto cl (83772) in Dec/64. These claims were transferred to Jersey Cons ML in Nov/65, and in Jul/66 to Rodstrom Yellowknife ML, which added the adjoining Grey cl (Y6320).
Restaked in Oct/67 by J. Strebchuk as June, etc cl (Y6950) and optioned in Jun/68 by Fort George Mg and EL, which built a 4.8 km road and performed bulldozer trenching in 1967 and added Joker and Jonas cl (Y6981) in Oct/67. Some of the claims were cancelled when the validity of the assessment was questioned and were restaked by Strebchuk in Nov/69 as Avenue and Duncan cl (Y33067).
Silver Spring ML optioned Strebchuk's property in Dec/70 and conducted trenching and geochem surveys in 1972 in a joint venture with Can Reserve O & GL. Partially restaked as Tamandara, etc cl (Y96674) in Aug/74 by E.F. Wies and Caribou Cache (YA1409) in Oct/75 by T. Casten, which was restaked as Beanpot No 1 cl (YA7223) in Oct/76 by W. Malicky, who carried out limited trenching in 1977-79. The Beanpot No 1 cl was restaked as Beanpot cl (YA77321) in Aug/83 by United Keno Hill ML.
The surrounding area was restaked as part of a block of 321 BE cl (YA39149) in Mar/79 by Canada Tungsten Mg Corp L, which performed mapping and geochem surveys in 1979 and 1980 and optioned the Silver Spring claims in 1982.
Capsule Geology
A narrow vein containing minor argentiferous galena cuts quartzite and phyllite and is exposed intermittently over a strike length of about 1220 m. A discontinuous 10 cm wide vein of pyrrhotite was the only mineralization found by Silver Spring on the Duncan and Avenue groups. Canada Tungsten located an unmineralized vein about 0.8 km to the west.
