Work History
Staked as Cream cl (16050) in Jul/25 by C. Phillipovich, who completed a total of 89.9 m of hand shafting in several areas by 1949, including one 32.3 m shaft with 29.3 m of sub-drifting on three levels. Phillipovich added the Jean cl (56479) in Aug/47, on which he collared a 3 m adit.
The property was optioned briefly in 1949 by East Bay Gold L and was leased by Phillipovich to K. Lekich, who shipped 54.4 tonnes of hand cobbed ore from the main shaft in 1951, and later to H. Ketels and A. Thun, who extended the Jean adit 78.9 m in 1955. The claims were taken to lease in Apr/59 and transferred to M. Perovic in Oct/67.
Capsule Geology
Erratic lenses of galena and sphalerite, with lesser amounts of tetrahedrite and chalcopyrite, occur in carbonate gangue within a transverse vein that cuts greenstone sills of Triassic age. The sills intrude felsic metavolcanic rocks of the Devono-Mississippian Earn Group which were formerly known as the 'Lower Schist'.
