Staked as David cl (16094) in Nov/25 by W.C. Sime, who carried out hand trenching until Oct/50 when he sold the claim to Canadian Exploration Ltd.
The adjoining Fox cl (55592), staked by C. Brefalt in Mar/47 and the David claim were acquired in Feb/51 by Mt Keno Mines Ltd and were explored with a 213.4 m adit by Amco Exploration Inc under option in 1952-53.
United Keno Hill Mines Ltd optioned the claims from 1964-74 and carried out geochemical surveying. In 1980 these claims and 23 other claims and fractions (this occurrence and Minfile Occurrence # 105M 016) were optioned and later acquired by Canada Tungsten Mining Corporation Ltd, which carried out geochemical sampling, prospecting and geological mapping during August and Sep/80. Canada Tungsten transferred ownership of the claims to Springmount Operating Company Ltd in May/87.
L. Crowther staked Aila cl 1 (YB80813) adjoining to the north in Apr/97. Crowther staked Aila cl 2 (YB98407) in Oct/97. T. Casten staked Star cl 1-2 (YB81025) east of the Aila claims in Jul/97.
The Aila claim was restaked as One cl (YC01994) in Sep/99 by W. Mann, who carried out a geochemical soil sampling in Jul/2000.

Capsule Geology

Silver-lead-zinc mineralization in the Elsa-Keno Hill mining camp occurs in north-northeast to east-northeast striking, steeply southeast dipping vein-faults located within a 23 km long by 6 km wide northeast trending belt of rocks on the south dipping limb of the McQuesten Antiform. The mineralized vein faults cut Devonian to Mississippian Earn Group phyllites, Mississippian Keno Hill quartzite and minor phyllite and Triassic meta-diorites. The vein-faults, are brittle displacement zones that show complex variations in style along their length. Narrow discrete planar fault segments pass into zones of tensional veining or shattered rock, brecciation and stockwork veining. The richest deposits occur in the vein-faults which cut the Keno Hill quartzites.
Galena and tetrahedrite occur in a narrow transverse-type vein cutting Keno Hill quartzite on the David claim. The mineralization occurs in erratic lenses and underground testing did not locate ore grade material. Soil sampling in this area in 1980 identified a strong linear lead-zinc-silver anomaly coincident with the inferred trace of the (Hogan) vein.
Limited soil sampling by Mann on the One claim returned weakly anomalous, non-coincident results for gold, silver and lead. Peak values of 3.8 ppb Au, 1 117 ppb Ag and 41.64 ppm Pb were returned from a total of ten samples.
