Work History
First staked as Ladue Fr cl (12874) in Oct/19 by E.E. McCarthy; Silver Bow cl (13530) in Aug/20 by H. McCrimman; and Venus Fr cl (13411) in Sep/20 by P.S. Hogan. These three claims were each restaked on several occasions and are presently held by United Keno Hill ML as the Ladue Fr (55584), Venus 2 Fr (80228) and Venus 1 Fr (80227) respectively. The major portion of this vein occurs on the Venus 1 Fr. It has been explored with shallow shafting and hand trenching and was optioned briefly to Bibis Yukon ML in 1950.
Restaked as Venus Fr (62292) in Oct/52 by the estate of P.S. Hogan and as the Venus 1 Fr (80227) in Jun/57 by M.H. Ewing, who bulldozer trenched in 1958-59, optioned it briefly to C. Wann in 1965 and sold it to United Keno in 1976.
Capsule Geology
Galena, sphalerite, tetrahedrite and arsenopyrite occur in quartz-siderite gangue within the Nabob-Main Vein system. This is a longitudinal-type vein cutting schist and greenstone. A selected specimen of vein material from the dump assayed 3 942.8 g/t Ag and 79% Pb.
