Work History
First staked as Duncan cl (12967) in Aug/19 by D. Sparks, who explored with a 14 m shaft and 11.6 m of drifting and shipped 11.8 tonnes of hand-cobbed ore in 1923.
Restaked as Duncan cl (55441) in Jul/46 by A.N. Martin and optioned to Silver Basin Yukon ML in Jun/48. The option was assigned in Jan/50 to Cons Yukeno ML and in Feb/51 to Yukeno ML, which purchased the claim in 1953, took it to lease (Lot 637) in 1960, and sold it to Rio Plata Silver ML in Nov/62. Work since 1946 has consisted of minor hand trenching and a few bulldozer cuts.
J. Venesse tied on Liberty Bell cl (YB77288) to the west in Jul/83. In 1989 D. Felix and J. Brinkerhoft optioned the Duncan claim and carried out a trenching program.
H. MacDonald staked Lotto cl 1-4 (YB03602) 1.5 km to the southeast in Jul/90. E. McGowan restaked Lotto claims as Smoky cl 1-5 (YB64668) in Aug/95.
Capsule Geology
Galena and tetrahedrite occur in siderite gangue on the dumps. The vein cuts quartzite and schist and is a transverse-type between longitudinal veins.
