Work History
Staked as Tum cl (YA25057) in Aug/79 by Cominco, which explored with mapping, geochem, EM, mag and gravity surveys in 1980 and one hole (149 m) in 1983 on claim Tum 150.
Restaked by Total Energold Corp. in 1989 and 1990 as part of the Clear Lake property (Clear claims (YB25815) Minfile 105L 045). Total Energold resampled the drill core and collected soil samples over and west of the drillhole.
Work on the Clear Lake property in 1991 consisted of 4588.2 m of diamond drilling in 19 holes, gravity and IP surveys, mapping, trenching and soil sampling, and further geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys were carried out in 1992.
The Clear claims were transferred to Energold Minerals Inc. in Nov/92.
Capsule Geology
The drill hole tested a well defined EM anomaly and intersected graptolitic black mudstone and siltstone of the Ordovician-to Lower Devonian Road River Formation, with thin interbeds of pyritic limestone and one 3 m thick tuffaceous bed. Graphite is common in fault zones. The only mineralization consisted of traces of disseminated sphalerite, siderite and barite in mudstone, and a narrow vein with sphalerite which assayed 2190 ppm Zn over 0.7m.
Total Energold's soil samples returned uniformly low values. Thin section analysis revealed that the 3 m tuffaceous bed is actually a dyke.
