Work History
Staked as Mab cl (Y9951) in Aug/66 and Sep/67 by Glenlyon ML to cover airborne Mag and EM anomalies obtained in a survey flown in May. Glenlyon conducted a ground EM survey, soil sampling, mapping and bulldozer trenching in 1966 and 1967 and optioned the claims in early 1968 to McIntyre Porcupine ML, which drilled two holes (313.6 m) later in the year. The Rob cl (Y66644) were fringe staked to the north in May/72 by R. Hilker and C. Shandalla, who added the Ram cl (Y91530) in Nov/74.
The property was transferred in 1975 to Jalna Res L which performed trenching in 1975-1977. It was fringed to the south by Macmillan JV, and to the west as Whip cl (YA48135) in Aug/79 by Welcome North ML. The Whip group was transferred in 1980 to Pelly Project (Welcome North ML and E & B EL), which conducted airborne mag and EM surveys and geochem sampling.
Capsule Geology
The claims are underlain by metasedimentary rocks which contain chalcopyrite-bearing quartz veins to the southeast. One drillhole intersected numerous pyritic quartz veins with occasional traces of chalcopyrite while the other hole intersected minor chalcopyrite in with quartz-carbonate veins intermittently over its entire length. Bands of massive hematite and magnetite forming up to 30% of the core occurred from 114.6 m to the end of the hole at 162.5 m. Core assays ranged from 0.02 to 0.09% Cu. The 1980 surveys gave negative results.
