Work History
Staked as MONI & TELE cl (YA18372) in Jun/77 by Woodside Project (Getty & Welcome North), which explored with mapping, geochem, mag and EM surveys in 1977-78, and 5 x-ray holes (97 m) in 1978. Ezee Golds L staked CES cl (YB8372) about 3 km to the north in Oct/87. This occurrence was restaked by J. Murnion in September, 1993 as part of a group of 60 Spud claims (YB38311) which also cover the Fargo occurrence. (MINFILE # 105K 010).
Capsule Geology
Laminated and disseminated sphalerite and minor pyrrhotite occur in bands up to 5 cm thick within a stratigraphic interval of 90 m. Host rocks are siliceous and pyritic slate that have been assigned an Ordovician to Devonian age.
Woodside geologists recognized that mineralization occurs at three separate stratigraphic horizons. The lowest consists of thin laminae of sphalerite and galena in Lower Cambrian impure marble and calcareous phyllite and biotite-garnet schist. The second mineralized layer occurs about 60 m higher and consists of small sphalerite-galena showings in siderite-pyrrhotite-magnetite-garnet-actinolite skarns developed in calcareous beds within graphitic biotite schist. The third consists of scattered stratiform occurrences in the Road River Formation sooty limestone and calcareous argillite.
The best trench samples assayed only 0.2% Pb and 2.9% Zn across 1.5 m. Drilling beneath the trenches returned lower values.
