Capsule

Work History

Staked as Blue and Colt cl (Y61598) in Aug/71, following reconnaissance mapping, gravity and geochem surveys by Anvil Synd (Can Reserve O & GL, Aquitaine C of Can L, Husky OL, Occidental Mls L, and Can Southern Pet L), which conducted a gravity survey later in the year.
Restaked as Two cl (YA49007) in Jun/80 by CKS Energy L and transferred to Overland E Serv (1969) L, which drilled one hole (209 m) in 1981.

Capsule Geology

Thin lamellae of pyrrhotite and pyrite occur in a sequence of argillite, quartz-sericite schist and calcareous schist of Cambrian-Ordovician age at the margin of the mid-Cretaceous Anvil Batholith. The 1981 hole cut predominantly argillite but included a 75 m wide section of interbanded cordierite schist and argillite with subordinate narrow bands of graphitic argillite, quartz sericite schist and sericite schist. Within the section were narrow faults, graphitic shear zones and a 3 m wide altered graphitic breccia zone. Near the bottom of this section a 1 cm wide band containing 20% pyrite and pyrrhotite with minor sphalerite was intersected.
