Capsule

Work History

Staked as Tay and Cow cl (68983) in Jul/54 by K.G. Sanders for Pelly River EL (Pioneer Gold ML, American Standard ML, New York Alaska Gold Dredging Corp and Northwest Ventures L). Restaked as Tay cl (YA22691) in Aug/77 by Anvil-Fishook JV (Amax Potash L, Aquitaine, Union O), which explored with mapping, geochem, mag and EM surveys in 1978 and 1 hole (181 m) in 1980. Amax transferred its interest to Canamax Res Inc in 1983.

Capsule Geology

Traces of chalcopyrite occur in narrow quartz veins cutting slate and siltstone of the Lower Cambrian Gull Lake Formation near the margin of a small mid-Cretaceous feldspar porphyry stock. The original staking was based on rumours of lead-zinc float. The drill hole tested an EM conductor and intersected graphitic quartzite within a thick section of quartz-biotite-andalusite schist and biotite quartzite.
