Work History
Staked as Jerry cl 1-34 (98576) in Feb/66 by Mogar Mines Ltd, which carried out a gravity survey shortly afterwards. The property was optioned in 1967 by Cominco Ltd, which carried out geochemical soil sampling, geological mapping, ground magnetometer and EM surveying in 1967 and drilled one hole (359 m) in 1968.
Restaked in Aug/73 by Vestor Exploration Ltd as Civi cl 1-11 (Y76715), which were transferred to Cream Silver Mines Ltd in 1974 and carried out geological mapping and geochemical soil sampling.
The lapsed Sink group (Y66158) to the northwest, staked by Cyprus Anvil Mining Corporation in May/72 and explored by one drill hole (92.4 m) in 1973, was partially restaked in Mar/75 as Rachel cl 1-48 (Y92705) by Vangorda Project (Welcome North Mines Ltd and Getty Mines Ltd) and explored with magnetometer and EM surveying in 1975 and drilled 2 holes (300.2 m) in 1977.
Cream Silver performed a gravity survey in 1976 in a joint venture with Mackir Mining Ltd, before optioning the Civi group to the Vangorda Project in 1978. Vangorda Project carried out Maxmin, EM and geochemical soil surveying and drilled 2 holes (270 m) on the Rachel group in 1979, and carried out ground EM and gravity surveying in 1981. In 1982 the Vangorda Project drilled 1 hole on the Rachel group (477 m) and 1 hole on the Civi group (727 m).
Curragh Resources Inc tied on Tread cl 1-19 (YB21922) to the south in Sep/88 and carried out geological mapping in 1989. In Nov/94 Anvil Range Mining Corporation acquired all claims owned by Curragh following the bankruptcy of the latter.
In Jan/98 Anvil Range filed for court protection in order to restructure the company. In Jan/99 Anvil Range¿s stock was delisted and the company entered bankruptcy proceedings.
Capsule Geology
Disseminated pyrite and minor traces of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena were intersected in the 1968 drill hole, which tested conductors caused by graphitic phyllite. The 1977 and 1979 drilling intersected up to 20% pyrite and pyrrhotite in these graphitic horizons. All drill holes were collared in Vangorda formation phyllites. Deeper holes intersected the underlying non-calcareous phyllites of the Mount Mye formation.
