Work History
Staked as Taku cl 1-32 (Y1909) in Mar/66 by Richore Gold Mines Ltd and Peerless Canada Exploration Ltd. Richore carried out geochemical soil sampling and magnetometer surveying between Sep/66 and Jun/67, but an attempt to drill in Sep/67 was abandoned due to weather conditions.
The northwest end of the claim block was restaked as Eagle cl 1-16 (Y12335) in Mar/67 by Eagle Head Mines Ltd and as part of Urn 1-124 (YA19142) by Cyprus Anvil Mining Corporation in Jul-Sep/77. Eagle Head carried out limited prospecting, soil sampling and magnetometer surveying, while Cyprus focused on several barite showings to the northwest (Minfile Occurrence #105K 106).
Control of Cyprus Anvil was sold to Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Ltd and subsequently to Dome Petroleum Ltd in 1981. Dome's interest was sold in 1985 to Curragh Resources Inc and in Nov/94 Anvil Range Mining Corporation acquired all claims owned by Curragh following the bankruptcy of the latter.
Restaked as Our Claim (YB57992) by D. Templeman-Kluit and J. McDonald in Jul/95.
Restaked as Boomer cl 1-18 (YC18834) in Aug/2000 by R. Hamel, who together with B. Scott and P. Andrietz carried out limited prospecting and geochemical sampling in Aug/2001.
Capsule Geology
The claims cover the faulted contact between Permian basalt, tuff and breccia of the Anvil Range Group and serpentinized Paleozoic ultramafic intrusions. Richore outlined a number of Zn (to 1 100 ppm) and Cu (to 100 ppm) soil geochemical anomalies, some of which were coincident, but no mineralization was found. No anomalous values were returned from three soil samples collected in 2001, when an attempt was made to duplicate Richore's results.
