Work History
Staked as Lil cl (Y37815) in Oct/69 by Atlas EL, which explored with mapping and sampling in 1970. Restaked on the north side by 144 May cl (YA19318) in Aug/77 by the Woodside Project (Getty and Welcome North), which explored with mapping and sampling in 1977 and 1978.
Capsule Geology
The original showing consisted of sphalerite in a skarn zone up to 4.6 m wide and 60 m long that graded up to 5% Zn. The Woodside Project discovered numerous additional showings of sphalerite with minor scheelite and galena up to 10.7 m thick. The mineralization is hosted by pyroxene-amphibole-pyrrhotite-epidote skarn that has formed in thin marble beds within a Lower Cambrian biotite schist unit at the margin of the Cretaceous Fox Mountain quartz monzonite stock.
The Woodside work was concentrated in three zones. On the Art Showing (May 13 claim), a skarn zone returned assays of 0.7% Zn and 0.2% Pb over 1.0 m. The West Zone (May 68 claim) returned assays up to 17.8% Zn and 0.02% Pb across 0.5 m. The Desolate Showing (May 4 claim) assayed 2.5% Zn and 268 ppm Sn across 2 m.
