Work History
Staked as Ursula cl (94907) in Nov/65 by C. Pasieka and Dan cl (94763) in Nov/65 by G. Cici. Restaked as Wop cl (Y79660) in Jul-Aug/74 by Anvil Range Synd (Teck Corp and DuPont) which conducted grid soil sampling, mag, IP and gravity surveys, a little bulldozing and drilled two holes (243.2 m) about 1.6 km to the northeast later in the year. The property was fringe staked in Aug-Sep/74 as Bar cl (Y80328) to the west by Welcome North ML, Raven cl (Y80556) of Racicot 74 Synd (Canex Placer and El Paso) and Tin cl (YA8317) of Tintina Silver ML to the south, Ross cl (Y80274) of Univex Mg Corp L and Rosco cl (Y83407) of R. Blusson to the southeast, and Bob cl (Y80572) of Granger Pet L to the northeast.
In 1975, Boliden Preussag E explored the Bar cl with mapping, geochem sampling and a Turam survey under an option, and Tintina Silver conducted bulldozer trenching. DuPont optioned the Bar group in 1976 and restaked all the other fringe claims as T cl (YA8317) in Oct/76, formed the Tenas JV with Western ML and explored with mapping, geochem sampling and gravity surveys in 1977; gravity and airborne mag and EM surveys in 1978; and a 10 hole drill program (3810 m) in 1979, part of which was performed on this target.
The option on the Bar group was terminated late in 1979 and the Tenas JV and Welcome North claims were optioned in 1980 by Cyprus Anvil. The DuPont interest was transferred to CSA Mls Inc in 1984 and to Goldsearch Inc in 1985, while the Wop group was transferred to R. Chaplin, who tied on Swop cl (YB21225) to the northeast in Aug/88 and performed IP surveys on them in 1989.
Capsule Geology
Pyrrhotite occurs with a trace of chalcopyrite and scheelite in quartz veins and disseminated in phyllite, tuff and altered volcanic rocks of Ordovician age, at the hornfelsed contact of a Cretaceous granodiorite pluton.
Ground EM surveys outlined a conductor at the southwest corner of the Bar group. The airborne survey identified EM conductors in the phyllite unit and outlined an allochthonous andesite unit.
One hole was drilled on each of the Wop and Bar groups while the others were widely spaced on the T group. No mineralization was encountered in the 1979 drilling.
