Capsule

Work History

Staked as WOAH cl (YA25740) in Sep/77 by Welcome North ML, which explored with mapping and sampling in 1977 and 1978. Riocanex explored in 1979 with rock geochem sampling and 4 holes (191 m) under a brief option. In 1981, the property was optioned briefly to Union Carbide EL.

Capsule Geology

Four scheelite showings occur in garnet-diopside-quartz skarn developed in screens and xenoliths of Proterozoic limestone and limy phyllite along the margin of the Mt Billings Batholith. The mineralization tends to be deficient in sulphides although pyrrhotite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite are locally present in minor amounts. Quartz veins cutting the skarn contain scheelite, molybdenite, chalcopyrite and anomalous amounts of radioactive minerals.
Chip sampling of the best scheelite occurrence (A showing) in 1977 indicated an average grade of 0.4% WO3, but the 1979 surface sampling returned an average grade of 0.09% WO3. Drilling failed to intersect the Woah A mineralization. The best intersection from the Woah B assayed 0.02% WO3 over 29.7 m.
