Work History
Staked in Aug/65 as Mapel and Abe cl (89212) by Mt Billings Venture (Asarco, Cerro and Duval), which conducted surface surveys and hand trenching before returning the claims to the prospectors who optioned them to Ramada ML in 1966.
Restaked as Ape and Kay cl (Y 2292) in Apr/70 by Matt Berry ML and by J. Melnychuk as Ja-Lo cl (YA33128) in Jun/78 and Ja-Lo cl (YA46284) in Oct/79.
Capsule Geology
The claims are underlain by argillic and limy sedimentary rocks of Devono-Mississippian age, intruded by a small stock. Disseminated pyrrhotite, with some chalcopyrite, is common.
The best showing consists of galena, sphalerite, jamesonite(?), arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, pyrite, and siderite gangue filling fissures in meta-argillite. Assays ranged from 0.1-3.0% Pb, trace to 0.05 % Cu, 24-75.4 g/t Ag and 0.17 - 0.34 g/t Au.
