Capsule

Work History

Staked as CYR cl (YA25482) in Aug/77 by Newmont, which entered a joint venture with Asamera OL, and explored with mapping, geochem and EM surveys and 6 drill holes (1011.3 m) in 1978 and an EM survey in 1979. G. Clark tied on Tar cl (YB1412) in Dec/87.
Cominco completely surrounded the Cyr cl with Ano cl (YB15420) in Oct/88 and tied on Hoole cl (YB15527) to the northeast and southwest in Nov/88. Cominco explored all three claim blocks with mapping and geochem surveys in 1989 and added more Hoole cl in Sep/89. Cominco continued mapping and carried out geophysical surveys in 1990. The Cyr 36 and 38 claims were transferred to S.W. Barclay in Jan/92.

Capsule Geology

Galena, sphalerite and pyrite occur as disseminations, blebs and veinlets in Cambro-Ordovician siltstone and shale. Two 1978 drillholes intersected 0.4 to 0.5 m of mineralization grading better than 23% combined Pb-Zn, and a third hole 100 m along strike to the southeast intersected 4.25% Pb and 8.1% Zn over 3.0 m.
1990 geochemical results demonstrated that the host shale is anomalous over a strike length of 4.5 km.
