Work History
Staked as Zn cl 1-2 (Y19017) in Aug/67 by G. Lishy and optioned to Atlas EL, which staked Phil cl 1-42 to surround the Zn claims in Sep/67 and carried out mag, EM and geochem surveys, mapping and bulldozer trenching later in 1967 and in 1968. The adjoining Pal cl (Y22065) were tied on to the southeast in Oct/67 by Spartan EL, which performed only preliminary mapping.
Restaked as Bob cl (Y83258) in Aug/74 by Ogilvie JV-C.L. Smith (Brinco, Mitsubishi Met Corp, Nithex ML, Enterprise Exploration and Ventures West Mls L), which explored with mapping and geochem sampling in 1975 and 1977, EM, mag and IP surveys in 1977, and 3 holes (443 m) and a Max-min EM survey in 1980.
W. Lafave staked Pelly cl (YA91082) 3 km to the north in Jun/86 to protect surface rights.
Capsule Geology
Two small showings in Silurian and Lower Devonian quartz-sericite phyllite consist of massive sphalerite with minor galena and a trace of chalcopyrite which occur as veins and blebs in quartz-calcite gangue. The main showing consists of a 1.2 m wide zone of massive sphalerite assaying 48% Zn and 4% Pb hosted by carbonate-altered phyllite. A bulldozer trench exposed narrow sections of lead and copper mineralization grading up to 6.9% Pb and 0.49% Cu over 1.5 m.
A second showing consists of quartz veins 0.6 to 2.5 cm wide spaced about a 30 cm apart across a width of 10 m and weakly mineralized with chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite. Two holes tested IP anomalies that were found to be caused by disseminated pyrite. One hole drilled below the showing assayed 6.2% Zn, 0.5% Pb, 23.6 g/t Ag and 0.1 g/t Au across 1.8 m.
