Work History
Staked as Sun cl (Y27734) in Sep/68 by Spartan EL following a regional geochemical survey. Restaked as Moon cl (YA12726) in Apr/77 by G. Harris & A. Carlos.
Capsule Geology
The area is underlain by weakly deformed and slightly metamorphosed Silurian to Triassic sedimentary rock units of the North American miogeocline. The Inconnu Thrust, which lies to the south, separates North American rocks to the north from Yukon-Tanana Terrane rocks to the south. Cretaceous granite intrudes the North American rocks, and undeformed Eocene basalt, rhyolite and gabbro also occur throughout the area.
The occurrence is mapped as being underlain by Permian Mount Christie Formation rocks (Unit PMC; Murphy et al., 2001). The claims cover erratic zinc anomalies and are underlain by scattered outcrops of dolomite near a contact with overlying Devono-Mississippian clastic rocks.
